https://youtu.be/XdimKojvZlg Primary Purpose of the RoleThe Workshop Service Advisor will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of the workshop, serving internal clients (own fleet) predominantly from a Heavy Diesel or Automotive background. This role involves liaising with internal-customers(own fleet drivers), management, and technical staff, conveying internal-customer requirements and concerns accurately to the workshop, managing repair orders and invoicing, advising on future maintenance requirements, and maintaining the highest levels of fleet efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesInternal-Customer (own fleet) and Stakeholder Liaison:- Act as the primary point of contact between internal clients (own fleet), management, and workshop staff.
- Communicate all internal-customer requirements and concerns accurately and promptly to the workshop team.
- Provide updates to management on the progress of the fleet repairs and maintenance.
Repair Orders and Invoicing:- Manage the daily flow of repair orders from initiation to completion.
- Ensure accurate and timely invoicing for all services rendered.
- Maintain detailed records of all repair orders and customer interactions.
Maintenance Advice:- Assess vehicle and equipment conditions and provide clients with professional advice future maintenance requirements.
- Schedule and coordinate preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
Internal-Customer Satisfaction:- Strive to maintain the highest levels of fleet-efficiency through effective communication and efficient service delivery.
- Address and resolve any internal-customer (own fleet) complaints or issues promptly and professionally.
Operational Efficiency:- Work closely with the Workshop Supervisor and technical staff to ensure smooth and efficient workshop operations.
- Assist in the planning and allocation of resources to meet service demands.
Administrative Duties:- Prepare and present regular reports on workshop activities, and operational performance.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and standards.
Qualifications & ExperienceExperience:- Proven experience as a Service Advisor within a Heavy Diesel or similar environment.
- Demonstrated experience in managing high volume repair orders, invoicing, and interactions.
Mechanical Knowledge:- Strong mechanical knowledge and background, with the ability to understand and communicate technical issues effectively.
- Familiarity with heavy diesel and automotive systems and components.
Time Management:- Outstanding time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Communication Skills:- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal clients and team members.
Additional Requirements- A commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
- A valid driver’s license, with a preference for a Heavy Vehicle license.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and software related to workshop management and invoicing.
