Job Title: Switchgear Technician
Employer Industry: Low Voltage Electrical Switchgear manufacturer and supplier
Work location: Sharjah
Salary: Competitive Salary for the experienced candidates
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in switchgear automation or a similar role. preferably in UAE
Requirements: Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Maintenance:

• Assemble, install, and maintain low-voltage and high-voltage switchgear systems.
• Conduct testing and inspection of switchgear to ensure operational safety and compliance.

Troubleshooting and Repairs:

• Diagnose electrical faults in switchgear components such as circuit breakers, transformers, and relays.
• Perform repairs or replacements as needed while adhering to safety standards.

Testing and Commissioning:

• Perform functional and insulation testing on switchgear panels.
• Ensure all systems meet technical specifications and regulatory requirements.

Documentation:

• Maintain detailed service and repair records.
• Prepare test reports and submit them as required.

Compliance:

• Adhere to all safety and quality control guidelines while handling electrical equipment.
• Follow company policies and local regulations related to electrical systems and installations.

Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other technicians to complete projects efficiently.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians if required.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Educational Background:

• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a switchgear technician.
• Experience with switchgear systems from major brands is preferred.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Knowledge of protection relays, control systems, and industrial automation.
• Expertise in using diagnostic tools and equipment.

Certification:

• Relevant certifications in switchgear maintenance, electrical safety, or similar fields are a plus.

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to work overtime or on-call shifts when necessary.
