Job Title: Construction Unit Manager

Experience: Minimum 7+ years in construction management, preferably in oil & gas, refineries, or petrochemicals. 
Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or related field).

Job Summary:
The Construction Unit Manager will oversee all construction activities for a long-term ADNOC project, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective execution in compliance with ADNOC standards, UAE regulations, and international best practices. The role involves managing multidisciplinary construction teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders while maintaining high-quality delivery and adherence to project schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Execution:
  • Lead and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring alignment with project schedules, budgets, and specifications.
  • Develop and implement construction strategies, work plans, and resource allocation in coordination with project management.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation measures to avoid delays.
2. HSE & Compliance:
  • Enforce strict adherence to ADNOC HSE standards, UAE regulations, and company policies.
  • Promote a "Zero Harm" culture, conducting regular safety audits, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with environmental and sustainability guidelines.
3. Team & Subcontractor Management:
  • Supervise construction supervisors, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure quality and productivity.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide leadership, and resolve conflicts among teams.
  • Ensure subcontractors meet contractual obligations, safety standards, and quality requirements.
4. Quality Control & Assurance:
  • Oversee quality inspections, testing, and compliance with project specifications and international standards (e.g., ISO, API, ASME).
  • Ensure all work is executed per approved drawings, method statements, and ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans).
5. Stakeholder Coordination:
  • Liaise with ADNOC representatives, project managers, engineering teams, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Prepare and present progress reports, KPIs, and construction updates to senior management.
6. Cost & Contract Management:
  • Monitor construction expenditures, control costs, and minimize variations.
  • Review and approve subcontractor invoices, change orders, and claims in coordination with the commercial team.
7. Logistics & Materials Management:
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and manpower to avoid disruptions.
  • Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to maintain inventory and equipment availability.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or related field). Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum 7+ years in construction management, preferably in oil & gas, refineries, or petrochemicals. 
  • Certifications: PMP, NEBOSH/IOSH, ADNOC-approved HSE training, and other relevant certifications.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, AutoCAD, and construction management software.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
