Job Title: Civil & Buildings Superintendent

https://youtu.be/XdimKojvZlg Job Purpose:The Civil & Buildings Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all civil and building construction activities on the ADNOC project, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. The role involves supervising contractors, coordinating with engineering teams, and ensuring timely completion of works while maintaining cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:1. Construction Supervision & Execution- Supervise and direct civil and building construction activities, including structural works, foundations, roads, drainage, and utilities.
- Ensure all works comply with ADNOC standards, project specifications, and UAE regulations.
- Monitor contractor performance, ensuring adherence to schedules, quality, and safety protocols.
- Review and approve method statements, inspection test plans (ITPs), and work permits.
2. Quality & Safety Compliance- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with quality control procedures.
- Ensure all civil and building works meet approved drawings and material specifications.
- Promote and enforce strict HSE policies, including ADNOC COPs and UAE regulations.
- Investigate and report any incidents, non-conformities, or delays.
3. Coordination & Reporting- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues.
- Attend progress meetings and provide updates on civil and building works.
- Prepare daily/weekly reports on construction progress, challenges, and mitigation plans.
- Coordinate with QA/QC and HSE teams for inspections and approvals.
4. Planning & Cost Control- Assist in developing construction schedules and monitor progress against milestones.
- Identify potential delays and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure efficient use of materials and resources to minimize wastage.
5. Team Leadership- Supervise and mentor junior engineers, inspectors, and contractors.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and accountability among the workforce.
Qualifications & Experience:- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 10+ years in civil construction, with 5+ years in UAE/GCC, preferably on ADNOC or major oil & gas projects.
- Certifications: ADNOC approval (preferred), PMP, NEBOSH/IOSH (advantageous).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, and construction management software.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
