Job Purpose:
The Civil & Buildings Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all civil, structural, and building construction activities on the ADNOC project site, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. The role involves supervising contractors, coordinating with engineering teams, and ensuring timely completion of works while adhering to ADNOC and UAE regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Construction Supervision & Execution:
- Supervise and monitor civil, structural, and building construction activities (e.g., foundations, concrete works, steel structures, roads, drainage, buildings, etc.).
- Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and ADNOC standards.
- Conduct daily site inspections to verify work progress, quality, and safety compliance.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to project schedules.
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures for civil and building works.
- Review material submittals, method statements, and inspection test reports (ITRs).
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams to conduct inspections and resolve non-conformities.
- Ensure compliance with ADNOC, local authorities (e.g., Abu Dhabi Municipality), and international standards (e.g., ACI, ASTM, BS).
- Enforce strict HSE policies and ensure contractors follow ADNOC’s safety regulations (e.g., COPs, PTW).
- Conduct safety toolbox talks and participate in HSE audits and incident investigations.
- Identify and mitigate potential hazards related to civil and building works.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues.
- Attend progress meetings and provide daily/weekly reports on construction status.
- Report delays, risks, and deviations to the Construction Manager.
- Verify the availability and suitability of construction materials and equipment.
- Monitor manpower and equipment allocation to optimize productivity.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Diploma with extensive experience may be considered).
- Experience: Minimum 7 years in civil supervision, oil & gas projects.
- Certifications: ADNOC approval (if applicable), OSHA/NEBOSH/IOSH certification is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading civil drawings, AutoCAD, and MS Project/Primavera.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
