https://youtu.be/XdimKojvZlg Job SummaryThe Instrument Superintendent will oversee all instrumentation and control systems activities for a long-term ADNOC project, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations. The role involves managing a team of engineers and technicians, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of instrumentation systems.
Key Responsibilities1. Project Supervision & Execution- Lead the installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA, field instruments, etc.).
- Ensure all instrumentation activities comply with ADNOC standards, international codes (ISA, IEC, API), and project requirements.
- Review and approve technical documents, including P&IDs, loop diagrams, datasheets, and method statements.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure timely delivery and installation of instruments.
2. Team Leadership & Coordination- Supervise and mentor a team of instrument engineers, technicians, and contractors.
- Conduct regular toolbox talks, safety meetings, and performance reviews.
- Ensure proper resource allocation and work schedules to meet project deadlines.
3. Quality Assurance & Compliance- Implement and enforce QA/QC procedures for instrumentation works.
- Conduct inspections, tests, and commissioning of instrumentation systems.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies and participate in safety audits.
4. Maintenance & Reliability- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Troubleshoot complex instrumentation issues and provide technical solutions.
- Monitor system performance and recommend upgrades or optimizations.
5. Reporting & Documentation- Prepare daily/weekly progress reports for project management.
- Maintain accurate records of calibration, maintenance, and inspection activities.
- Ensure as-built documentation is updated and handed over upon project completion.
Qualifications & Experience- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Control Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 12+ years in instrumentation in a supervisory role in oil & gas.
- Certifications: ISA, TÜV, or equivalent certifications are a plus.
Technical Skills:- Expertise in DCS/PLC systems (Yokogawa, Honeywell, Siemens).
- Knowledge of field instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, level transmitters).
- Familiarity with SIL, ATEX, and hazardous area classifications.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
