Job Purpose:
The PIF Superintendent will oversee all painting, insulation, and fireproofing activities to ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications, and international codes (e.g., ISO, NACE, SSPC, ASTM). The role involves supervising contractors, ensuring quality control, safety compliance, and timely execution of work.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Supervision & Execution:
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all painting, insulation, and fireproofing (PIF) activities in compliance with ADNOC and international standards.
- Review technical specifications, material submittals, and method statements (ITPs, MSRA, QHSE plans).
- Ensure proper surface preparation (blasting, cleaning) and application of coatings (epoxy, PU, zinc, intumescent, etc.).
- Oversee insulation works (thermal, acoustic, cryogenic) and fireproofing (cementitious, epoxy-based) as per project requirements.
- Monitor environmental conditions (humidity, temperature) for optimal coating application.
- Conduct pre-inspection meetings and ensure compliance with ADNOC Coating Standard (ACS), NACE, ISO 12944, and SSPC.
- Verify material certifications (TDS, MSDS) and ensure proper storage/handling.
- Perform dry film thickness (DFT), adhesion tests, holiday detection, and visual inspections.
- Coordinate with third-party inspectors (TPI), Client QA/QC, and Certifying Authorities.
- Enforce ADNOC HSE standards, permit-to-work (PTW), and COSHH regulations for hazardous materials.
- Ensure proper PPE, ventilation, and confined space safety during application.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety audits, and incident investigations.
- Supervise subcontractors and ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets.
- Liaise with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to resolve technical issues.
- Report daily/weekly progress to the Construction Manager.
- Maintain inspection records, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and as-built documentation.
- Ensure coating logbooks, warranty certificates, and handover documents are completed.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- Certifications: NACE Level 2/3, BGAS-CSWIP, or equivalent coating inspection certification.
- Experience:
- Minimum 12+ years in PIF supervision in oil & gas (O&G), petrochemical, or offshore projects, preferably with ADNOC, NPCC, or EPC contractors.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in ASTM, ISO, NACE, SSPC, and ADNOC standards.
- Familiarity with 3-layer PE coating, FBE, CUI mitigation, and passive fire protection (PFP).
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
