Job Purpose:
The Pre-com/Comm I&C Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup activities related to Instrumentation & Control Systems for ADNOC’s oil & gas projects. The role ensures compliance with ADNOC standards, project schedules, and HSE requirements while coordinating with contractors, vendors, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Pre-commissioning & Commissioning Coordination:
- Plan, supervise, and execute I&C pre-commissioning/commissioning activities (DCS, ESD, PLC, SCADA, field instruments, analyzers, fire & gas systems, etc.).
- Review and approve method statements, ITPs, and commissioning procedures for I&C systems.
- Ensure all instrumentation loops, control systems, and safety systems are tested and validated per project specifications.
- Coordinate loop checks, calibration, functional tests, and interlocks validation.
- Ensure compliance with ADNOC VAP, international standards (IEC, ISA, ANSI), and project specifications.
- Verify as-built documentation, datasheets, and vendor manuals for I&C systems.
- Resolve technical issues related to instrumentation, control valves, transmitters, and automation systems.
- Liaise with EPC contractors, vendors, operations, and engineering teams to ensure smooth handover.
- Coordinate with ADNOC Offshore/Onshore, PMC, and third-party inspectors for approvals.
- Support SAT (Site Acceptance Tests), FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests), and integrated system tests.
- Ensure all commissioning activities comply with ADNOC HSE policies (PTW, LOTO, risk assessments).
- Conduct safety toolbox talks and audits for I&C commissioning teams.
- Report and mitigate non-conformities, punch list items, and defects.
- Prepare daily/weekly commissioning progress reports for ADNOC management.
- Assist in Mechanical Completion (MC) and RFSU (Ready for Startup) certifications.
- Support handover to operations (TOP, TCCC, and final documentation).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Control Engineering, or Electronics.
- Experience: Minimum 7+ years in I&C commissioning for oil & gas projects (ADNOC experience preferred).
- Expertise in DCS/ESD/PLC systems (Yokogawa, Honeywell, Siemens).
- Familiarity with field instrumentation, control valves, and loop testing.
- Knowledge of ICSS, SIL, and hazardous area classifications (ATEX/IECEx).
- Certifications: ADNOC approval (preferred), COMPEX, IEC 61511, or functional safety certifications.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving
