Job Title: QC Instrumentation Inspector

https://youtu.be/XdimKojvZlg Job Purpose:The QC Instrumentation Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all instrumentation and control systems installation, calibration, testing, and commissioning activities comply with project specifications, international standards (e.g., ISA, IEC, API), and ADNOC requirements. The role involves rigorous inspection, documentation, and quality control to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:1. Inspection & Quality Control:- Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of instrumentation equipment (transmitters, control valves, flow meters, pressure/temperature gauges, DCS/PLC systems, etc.).
- Verify material certifications (MTCs), calibration certificates, and test reports for compliance with project specs.
- Inspect cable routing, junction boxes, grounding, and loop checks per approved drawings.
- Ensure proper installation, alignment, and protection of instruments in hazardous areas (Ex-proof, intrinsically safe).
- Witness loop testing, functional tests, and commissioning of control systems.
2. Compliance & Standards:- Ensure adherence to ADNOC, IEC, ISA, ANSI, API, and ATEX standards.
- Review ITPs (Inspection Test Plans), method statements, and QC procedures before execution.
- Monitor contractor/subcontractor work to prevent non-conformities.
3. Documentation & Reporting:- Maintain inspection reports, checklists, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Update QC dossiers and ensure all records are traceable for audits.
- Coordinate with third-party inspectors (TPI) and client representatives.
4. Coordination & Safety:- Liaise with construction, engineering, and commissioning teams to resolve technical issues.
- Ensure HSE compliance (permits, PTW, risk assessments) during inspections.
- Attend punch listing and ensure timely closure of defects.
Qualifications & Experience:- Diploma/Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Control Engineering.
- Minimum 5+ years of QC inspection experience in oil & gas (ADNOC/DESCON/ARAMCO projects preferred).
- Certifications: CSWIP 3.1, IECEx, ATEX, or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of DCS, ESD, F&G systems, and field instruments.
- Familiarity with SAP, Aconex, or other project management tools.
Skills & Competencies:- Attention to detail in calibration and loop testing.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, and datasheets.
- Strong communication skills.
- Problem-solving for troubleshooting instrumentation issues.
