Job Title: QC Supervisor (Electrical)

Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Diploma with extensive experience.
Requirements: Minimum 7 years in QC electrical supervision, preferably in oil & gas (O&G), petrochemical, or EPC projects.

Job Purpose:
The QC Supervisor (Electrical) is responsible for ensuring all electrical installations, equipment, and systems comply with ADNOC standards, project specifications, and international codes (e.g., IEC, NEC, API, ANSI). The role involves overseeing inspections, testing, and quality control procedures to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
 
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Control & Compliance:
  • ·       Ensure all electrical works (cabling, transformers, switchgear, motors, lighting, earthing, etc.) meet ADNOC, IEC, NEC, and project specifications.
  • ·       Review and approve ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), method statements, and QC procedures for electrical works.
  • ·       Conduct inspections of electrical installations, equipment, and materials (pre-installation, during installation, and final handover).
  • ·       Verify compliance with HAZOP, HSE, and ATEX (if applicable) requirements.
2. Inspection & Testing:
  • ·       Oversee pre-commissioning and commissioning of electrical systems.
  • ·       Witness and review test reports (Megger, IR, HV/LV testing, relay testing, etc.).
  • ·       Ensure proper calibration of testing equipment and validity of certifications.
  • ·       Monitor cable laying, terminations, glanding, and tray installations as per standards.
3. Documentation & Reporting:
  • ·       Maintain QC records, inspection reports, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
  • ·       Ensure Material Certification (MTC), Mill Test Reports (MTRs), and as-built documentation are properly archived.
  • ·       Liaise with third-party inspectors (TPI), ADNOC representatives, and contractors for approvals.
4. Supervision & Coordination:
  • ·       Supervise QC inspectors and subcontractors to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • ·       Coordinate with construction, engineering, and HSE teams to resolve quality issues.
  • ·       Conduct internal audits and support ADNOC audits/Vendor inspections.
5. Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions:
  • ·       Identify defects, raise NCRs, and ensure timely corrective actions.
  • ·       Implement root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring quality issues.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • ·       Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Diploma with extensive experience.
  • ·       Certifications:
  • o   ADNOC approval (preferred) or experience in ADNOC projects.
  • o   Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or NACE/IICORR (if applicable for hazardous areas).
  • o   ISO 9001 Lead Auditor (preferred).
·       Experience:
  • o   Minimum 7 years in QC electrical supervision, preferably in oil & gas (O&G), petrochemical, or EPC projects.
  • o   Hands-on experience with HV/LV systems, EX-proof equipment, and substations.
  •       Standards Knowledge:
  • o   IEC, NEC, API, ANSI, BS, ATEX, IECEx, and ADNOC COPs.
Skills & Competencies:
  • ·       Strong knowledge of electrical testing & commissioning.
  • ·       Proficiency in QC software and MS Office.
  • ·       Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • ·       Ability to work in harsh environments and meet strict deadlines.
