Job Summary
Our client, a well-established fire protection company in Ras Al Khaimah, is seeking an experienced and commercially driven General Manager to oversee the company’s overall operations, business development, project execution, financial performance, and regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate must have strong and demonstrable experience working in Ras Al Khaimah, particularly in dealing with the RAK Civil Defense Department and other relevant RAK government authorities. The candidate should understand the local regulatory environment, approval processes, licensing requirements, inspections, project approvals, and government procedures applicable to fire protection and life-safety projects.
This is a senior leadership position requiring a combination of fire protection industry knowledge, operational management, government relations, business development, and commercial acumen.
Key Responsibilities
Business & General Management
  • Lead and manage the overall operations and strategic direction of the company.
  • Develop and execute business plans to achieve revenue, profitability, and growth objectives.
  • Oversee sales, projects, engineering, procurement, installation, maintenance, finance, and administration functions.
  • Establish operational KPIs and ensure effective performance monitoring across departments.
  • Identify new business opportunities and strengthen the company’s market position in RAK and across the UAE.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key clients, consultants, contractors, developers, and business partners.
RAK Civil Defense & Government Relations
  • Act as the company’s senior representative when dealing with RAK Civil Defense and other RAK government departments and authorities.
  • Manage and facilitate fire protection project approvals, inspections, certifications, NOCs, and related regulatory processes.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with relevant government officials and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Ensure the company and its projects remain compliant with applicable RAK regulations, Civil Defense requirements, and authority procedures.
  • Monitor changes in local regulations, approval requirements, and government procedures and ensure timely implementation within the company.
  • Resolve authority-related issues, approval delays, inspection matters, and compliance concerns effectively.
  • Ensure all company licenses, registrations, certifications, and government-related requirements remain valid and up to date.
Fire Protection Operations
  • Oversee the execution of fire protection and life-safety projects from design and approval through installation, testing, commissioning, and handover.
  • Ensure projects are delivered according to approved drawings, specifications, authority requirements, quality standards, and agreed timelines.
  • Monitor project profitability, resource utilization, procurement, subcontractors, and operational costs.
  • Ensure proper coordination between engineering, site teams, project managers, clients, consultants, and authorities.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance, testing, inspection, and after-sales service operations where applicable.
Sales & Business Development
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and secure new fire protection projects.
  • Build relationships with developers, main contractors, MEP contractors, consultants, facility management companies, and government-related entities.
  • Identify and pursue tenders, projects, maintenance contracts, and long-term business opportunities.
  • Participate in negotiations, commercial discussions, tender submissions, and major client meetings.
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline and ensure achievement of business development targets.
Financial & Commercial Management
  • Take responsibility for the company’s overall financial and commercial performance.
  • Monitor revenue, gross margins, project costs, receivables, cash flow, and operating expenses.
  • Review quotations, tenders, contracts, variations, and major commercial commitments.
  • Work closely with finance and commercial teams to improve profitability and control costs.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and support timely collection of client payments.
Leadership & People Management
  • Lead, motivate, and develop management and operational teams.
  • Establish clear responsibilities, performance standards, and accountability.
  • Recruit and retain competent technical, engineering, sales, and operational personnel.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, compliance, customer service, and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 6 years of proven professional experience in Ras Al Khaimah.
  • Significant management experience within the fire protection, fire fighting, MEP, life safety, or related technical services industry.
  • Strong and proven experience dealing directly with RAK Civil Defense.
  • Strong knowledge of dealing with RAK government departments and relevant regulatory authorities.
  • Demonstrable experience handling authority approvals, inspections, certifications, NOCs, and compliance procedures in RAK.
  • Strong understanding of fire protection systems, including relevant design, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance processes.
  • Proven experience managing projects, operations, sales, and commercial activities.
  • Strong business development and client relationship management skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE business and regulatory practices, particularly those applicable in RAK.
  • Excellent English communication skills; Arabic is an advantage.
  • UAE driving license is preferred.

Critical Requirement
  • Candidates without substantial and verifiable Ras Al Khaimah experience, particularly hands-on experience dealing with RAK Civil Defense and other RAK government authorities, will not be considered.
  • The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate existing knowledge of RAK authority procedures and established professional relationships with relevant stakeholders, rather than relying solely on general UAE experience.
